January Recap

We had a birthday party for Papaw at our house. He turned 83 this month. It was fun to just hang out with family and celebrate his day!
I caught Ashley one day putting stickers on the wall...she thought it was fun :) She loves stickers...give the girl a sheet of stickers and she's entertained for a good hour!
I have been "conditioning" my child....bad? perhaps...but last time we went on a plane she refused to have the headphones in her ears so I turned the sound on the DVD player on a little..I didn't think anyone else on the plane could hear and even if they could I thought it was better for them to hear Barney than to hear an 11 month old screaming....but yeah...the man in front of us complained to the flight attendant who told us we had to turn the volume off....so we did...and Ashley screamed the remaining hour of the flight.....sooooo....we are now "conditioning" her to watch DVDs on her mini player with headphones in preparation for our flight to DisneyWorld. I DO NOT WANT A REPEAT OF LAST YEAR!
Eric and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary this month and went to Steve Fields...YUM!!!
Ashely went to 3 birthday parties this month. Here is a pic in the car on the way to Cole's B-Day Party --- it was a Pjamma Party....very cute!

I'm asking for your help...

Each year the Junior League of Plano puts on a huge rummage sale, known as Trinkets to Treasures. Many people who are less fortunate than you or I come to this sale looking for items needed to care for their families. At Trinkets they can find children's clothes, books, toys, cooking utencils, and the list goes on...

All items are donated by Junior League Members --- so how can you help?

If you donate $25 to the sale - a family in need will be given a $25 gift certificates for the rummage sale that they can use to purchase the items their family needs.

You might be asking - so who gets these $25 gift certificates....well, we give them to area agencies to distribute to the people they help. For example, JLP might give The Samaritan's Inn 10 $25 gift certificates. Samaritan's Inn will then select 10 of their families and give them each a gift certificate.

For your donation you will receive a charitable contribution receipt so that you may take this deduction on your 2008 taxes - and of course you will feel WONDERFUL about helping a family in need.

If you would like to donate $25 - either send me an email or leave me a comment here. Here is a link to the JLP website with more information about Trinkets to Treasures.

THANK YOU!!! Thank You!!! tHANk yOu!

Gymboree Makes Me Hungry!

Doing squats to get ready for her workout at Gymboree.

Ashley started a class this winter at Gymboree. She loves running around, jumping, singing songs and everything else that is Gymboree. We go once a week and she has a BLAST!

I think Ashley needs some real life friends....playdate anyone?? She's been busy snacking w/ her babies and bears lately :) I lowered her highchair because she figured out how to undo the buckle....and later that day she decided to put her baby in the chair and buckle it in...I brought her little chair over and gave them both a snack. Then the next day she decided that her bear needed a snack....I have since raised the highchair back up because she was climbing in and out of it...which I thought was more dangerous than her being able to unbuckle the belt...I'll just have to be mindful to get the tray in place before I leave her in the highchair.

Diaper Change Anyone?!?!

So Ashley has become very fascinated with diapers, the potty, telling us she is "stinky", etc....you get the point....

Well today while I was trying to get a little bit of work done, I heard a lot of ruccus in the family room...so I looked over and this is what I saw...I just had to grab the camera and take a few shots. She was so cute - she was saying, "P-wuuuw, stinky" to her baby and then proceeded to get out a diaper and put it on her baby. Too cute!!

Baby is in place - getting out the diaper.
Opening up the diaper.
Baby was not cooperating - so Ashley took her off the changing pad and put her on the carpet so she could get the diaper on better. Oh and she took the babies remaining sock off (not sure why...guess she thought it was part of the reason it was taking her a good 15 minutes to change the diaper).
Opening up the tabs.
SUCCESS! The baby changed the babies diaper!

Say Cheese!

Bowl-a-Rama - Ashley and Mommy headed to the bowling alley with Gigi, Granken, Aunt Kris & Matt, and Uncle Mike, Lida, Randy, Keith & Kevin. We had a lot of fun - although we kept Ash out way past her bedtime...I think she was falling asleep in this picture while eating a pretzel.

I think these are four of Ashley's favorite Christmas presents.....her stroller - her tiger (thanks John!), her bunny PJs (thanks Bonnie & Steve), and her Hello Kity Purse (thanks Mimi!). She pushes her stroller around the house at least 4 times a day. She has even taken it on several outings - up and down our street, to Gigi's and to Nana's houses. Who would have ever thought that a $10 stroller from Target would be this much fun to a little girl!
So I got super motivated because of course it was the start of the New Year and all...so while Eric was stuck in Canada over the weekend I thought it would be a great use of the dull weekend to have a garage sale. So that's just what Ashley and I did a few weekends ago....Cleared out all the junk - and 5 hours later we were $301.20 richer! We loaded up the stuff that didn't sell and took it to Goodwill - we now have a very tidy garage and have our guest bedroom back! It had previously somehow turned into a bedroom/storage room.
Here is a picture from Ashley's lunch today - she had chicken salad on a croissant...she seemed to enjoy it! Ashley is the best little eater there is...she will try ANYTHING! and most of the time likes it. She even eats broccoli and asparagus...what a sweetie!
