Labor Day Weekend: Reiter Family Reunion
I know - I said I'd post this a long time ago - but I've been busy {blame it on TrendyMommy - the new site is up YEA!}!
So here goes...We headed down to New Braunsfel this Labor Day to partake in the annual Reiter Family Reunion. There were about 70 of us this year - it was a lot of fun to see everyone and I know that Ashley enjoyed spending so much time with her cousins! The kids had a blast playing together from the time they woke up till the time they went to bed at night. We had planned on waking up early on Friday to make the trek down there but didn't actually get out of the house until around lunch time - we stopped in Waco at La Fiesta for lunch (this was Eric and I's favorite Mexican restaurant during our 4 years at Baylor). On Saturday we woke up and headed to one of Eric's childhood fun spots - Aquarena Springs - the kids got to ride a glass bottom boat and search for fish and turtles in the water.

On Sunday we went to Landa Park and the kids got to ride a train all around the park and play on the playground - Ashley loved the train! It was pretty cute :)

The Reiter's thought it would be fun to have a theme for this years reunion so Pirates we were...several family members floated the river all decked out in their best pirate gear. There was even a treasure hunt for the little pirates on Sunday before lunch - Eric, Ashley, & I all dressed up for the treasure hunt and had a great time seeing all the other pirates! I made Ashley's little pirate costume and it was a HUGE hit :)
The whole clan minus a few pirates that were cooking lunch for us ;)
Eric & I decided that since we were already down there and probably wouldn't want to make the 5 hour drive again anytime soon that we'd take Ashley to San Antonio on Monday and check out Sea World. We had a blast!
Ashley even fed the dolphins (ALL BY HERSELF!!!!!) I was amazed that she did this - but she didn't even have an ounce of fear - she grabbed a stinky smelly fish out of the bucket and put it in the dolphins mouths. She thought it was really fun and loved seeing two shows (dolphins and shamu) and playing in the waterparks.

We had a great day and then a really long ride home that night! Ashley did so great in the car though! Not fussing at all until we were about 30 minutes from home...WOW! We had a busy Labor Day but it was definitely fun!

1st day of School
Poor Miss Lady!
Children's Museum
We went to visit the Dallas Children's Museum a few weeks ago to escape the rain and being couped up in the house for 5 days!! Ashley had a good time forecasting the weather, digging for dinosaur bones, & playing on the farm.
Potty Training?
Big Girl Bed: Take 2!
So a few weeks ago, Ashley got stuck in her crib slats - AGAIN....and I'd had enough of that - so we went shopping for big girl bedding. Ashley wanted purple polka dots - so that's what we got {thank you Pottery Barn for having that bedding!} Purple is not an easy color to find - everything is Pink and Green!!!
Anyways! When Daddy got home we put him to work disassembling her crib and setting up her big girl bed! She loves it! Absolutely LOVES IT! and we haven't had any problems! Seriously, had I known this would be such a 'non' event - I would have done it months ago.
