Big Girl in a Little Chair

It's Opposite Day! Check out the post on February 23rd :)

Giant Easter Egg Bunny

Gigi and Grandken got Ashley the funniest looking Easter Bunny I've ever seen. It is bigger than she is, but that doesn't stop her from rolling over it, picking it up and throwing it, and laying her head on it. Here is a pic of Ashley outside w/ her Giant Egg Bunny. They also got her a Tiny Egg Bunny. (Check out our new fence in the background...we finally got it fixed...YEA!) I wonder sometimes if Ashley gets tired of us posing her with strange things and jumping around like a bunch of crazies trying to get her to smile....I think I got my answer...take a look at the third picture....she's like, what are you doing mommy!

Ashley and the Computer

Ashley is very interested in anything electronic or anything that controls anything that is electronic. She loves remote controls as evidence by this being the first thing she crawled to. She loves cell phones, apparently they taste good. She loves computers. So far little Miss Ashley has learned how to do the following on the computer:
1) Send an email from Gigi's work computer to one of her coworkers - thank goodness the email was blank instead of including the gibberish that she usually types!
2) Remove all the taskbars and toolbars from Mommy and Daddy's home computer. It took us a good hour to figure out how to get the bars back.
3) Make mommy's work computer screen picture rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise. This proved to be her most difficult task yet as it took Mommy almost 2 hours to figure out how to rotate the screen picture back to normal. I feared that I would return to work on Monday and have to call our tech support and explain that I left my laptop on the floor, went to get a drink from the refrigerator and in that time my 9 month old daughter crawled over to the laptop and performed her magic. Luckily I figured it out before I had to return to work.

She even likes to 'learn' about digital cameras in her spare time, as evidenced by the below photo - we have no idea why it is blue - except that Ashley did have the camera for a while after...who knows! Check out her mohawk!!!

Dallas Arboretum

We were sitting around the house this morning, playing with Ashley when Eric read in the paper that it was opening weekend for the Dallas Arboretum. Since it was such a beautiful day we packed up Ashley and headed out to look at the flowers. We had a lot of fun...it felt sort of like a mini vacation...the weather couldn't have been nicer. Ashley had a lot of fun looking at the flowers and all the people. They have this really neat area where they have planted flowers in the shape of butterfly wings...kids (or adults) can lay down in between the flowers and it looks like you are a butterfly. Ashley was too small for the effect to really work..and she was very distracted by the flowers being so close to her...she kept trying to rip them out...WHOOPS! She really liked touching the grass too :) We had a great day!

We're MOBILE!

She's been rocking for about three weeks now...and guess what?!?!? She crawled this morning for the first time and we got it on tape...of course she crawled to get to the remote control. Is that a bad sign??

Heat Rash?

When the weather changed last week to a warmer temperature Ashley broke out in some sort of rash. The rash was mostly on her neck and she had very rosy cheeks. Thinking that it might be heat rash and thinking that perhaps her footed PJs were a bit too hot, I let Ashley sleep in her new spring PJs last night (Thanks Cooney's!!). She loved them! And guess what....when she woke up this morning the rash was gone. Doesn't she look cute in her little striped shorts?!?!
We went with Sam and Alex to get some Easter pictures taken at The Picture People in Collin Creek Mall. The kids had fun (for the most part) and did really well for their photo session. We got some great pics of the three of them together and of course we got some oh so cute ones of Ashley with a giant Easter egg. She's a little doll! I wish I could post them online, but I don't have the digital file.....oh well.

Ashley has a new best friend!

So Lily our Yorkie-Poo has figured out that if she jumps up on the bench seat next to Ashley's highchair that Ashley will feed her...needless to say Ashley only ate half of her toast before giving the rest to Lily. At least they both get something out of the exchange...Lily gets people food...and Ashley thinks it's hilarious to feed Lily.

1st Time at the Park

The weather was finally warm enough for Ashley to explore the outdoors. We loaded up the stroller and headed to the park. Ashley loved watching all the other little kids run around and play. She even got to swing for the first time. Oh boy!

Party Girl!

I helped Alex celebrate his 3rd Birthday at his Construction Party this past weekend! He is so sweet, he got me a soft book for my party favor. Thanks for sharing your bows and ribbons from your presents with me...I love them and the balloons that you had at your party! I also went to my friend Mason's 2nd birthday party at Gymboree. I loved shaking the maracas! It was so much fun!

Fence Issues

So we knew when we moved into this house that we'd need to replace the fence soon, but we were hoping to get at least a year out of it....well, thanks to this "artic blast" (as channel 8 keeps calling it) looks like we will need to get a new fence sooner rather than later. It's a little hard to see in the pics, but a few sections of the fence came completely apart. Two sections are actually being held partially up by the dog house. Rotted wood and wind and ice apparently do not mix!

Where oh where did that paci go?

We were down to one remaining pacifier on Saturday afternoon, because Peanut (our little yorkie) likes to find them and carry them around in his mouth. I wish I had a picture of him with one of them in his mouth, it really is quite comical...it looks like he is actually sucking on it. It is hard not to laugh when scolding him. So anyways, we were down to our last one and I couldn't find it. Eric and I both looked high and low for it, we were certain that Peanut had stolen yet another one...but couldn't find evidence of it anywhere. We gave up hope of finding it and I opened up a new package of pacis that I had bought earlier in the week. Well, about an hour later I found it....in the oddest place....check out the pic below.

Yep, that's right...in the fireplace. Ashley's swing is next to the fireplace and she must have pulled out the paci and threw it in the fireplace....Eric and I thought it was pretty funny!

Second Day of School... and still smilin'

Ashley (and mommy) made it through another day of school. Mrs. Beth said Ashley loves to watch all the other babies, most of them are crawling or walking and Ashley is just fascinated that they can move around so well and so fast. Mrs. Beth also said Ashley is a very good eater and calls her a sweetie. Here are some pics of Ashley after school today playing with her goodnight lion.

And another of her under the coffee table. I have no idea how she got under here so perfectly...she was even reading a magazine. Must have learned it at school...JK! She can't quite crawl yet, but has mastered the roll and back scoot to get where she wants to go. She is a very determined little one!

Does NOT Taste Like Chicken!!

Here is Ashley eating her first meat.....I can vouch for it's complete and utter nastiness! I've never tasted anything so bad before in my life...not even the questionable meals in China came close to this!

First Day of School

I was very aprehensive about Ashley's first day at school. I made it through the day without crying. Her teacher Mrs. Beth is great and makes me feel better about leaving Ashley. It is also nice that the school where she is has cameras in all the rooms so Eric and I can log on from work and see what Ashley is up to. Needless to say, I didn't get much work done on Monday!!! Here are some pics of Ashley after I picked her up from school. I gave her a baby cookie (biter biscuit) when we got home.

ROCKIN' NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY

We stayed in this year. We were finally starting to feel a little better from our nasty stomach bug....so we didn't want to push our luck any. We had a good time though....Ashley got her party gear on and we hid our pennies in the backyard.

She was like hmmmm...what's this...and can I eat it?

She's like come on guys...when is the ball going to drop so I can go to bed? (just kidding...we did not keep her up till midnight)

We had one fun filled-jam packed Christmas!

I've been a slacker lately...sorry! We had a wonderful Christmas. I know everyone says that a baby's first Christmas is more exciting for the parents than for the baby...but I really think Ashley enjoyed opening her presents. She is so alert and although I'm sure that next Christmas will bring even more joy to her...I do think she had a great time this year.

On Christmas Eve we headed over to Eric's parents (Nana & Pops) house for lunch and to open presents with them and Tiff, Larry, Alex and BABY SAM (he made his arrival just in time for Christmas). Ashley got some great gifts and it was really fun to open gifts together with everyone.

Caption: Pops holding Ashley while Nana opens the gift Ashley made for her. Ashley waiting patiently for Alex to pass out all the gifts. It was so cute...she was banging on the gift that Alex gave her and accidentally ripped a small hole in the paper and Alex came up to her and said in the sweetest caring little voice, "Wait one minute, Ashley". It was TOOO CUTE! He loves his little cousin so much. We then headed to Muenster to enjoy Christmas Eve dinner with the entire Reiter clan! It was really fun and everyone got to see Ashley.
Caption: Ashley was sooooo tired from the long trip to Muenster and the event filled day...she passed out on her changing table before we could finish getting into her new Christmas PJs that Gigi & Granken got her. What a tired baby! Christmas morning we woke up and of course Ashley ran down stairs to see what Santa had brought her....ok...so mommy and daddy ran downstairs carrying Ashley to see what Santa brought her. Ashley must have been a very good 6 month old, because Santa brought her a Jumperoo. She absolutely LOVED it and mommy and daddy learned that for next year we need to "ask Santa to please put together the toys before heading back up the chimney!!" Santa also left her some new bibs and sippy cups. After all the Santa and Jumperoo excitement wore off, we headed into the living room to open our family gifts by the tree. Ashley once again made out like a bandit. She got a Learn and Groove table, Noah's Ark, and some clothes from Mommy & Daddy.
Caption: Ashley and Mommy with her the gifts Santa brought her. Too bad he didn't take the time to set them up! Bad Santa! She's showing off her new found skill of sitting up by herself. She thinks she's a big girl now! Finally...the Jumperoo is operational and ready for its little jumper. SUCCESS! She loves it...check out that cute smile! Ashley with her Noah's Ark and Groove and Learn Table that Mommy and Daddy got her.
We headed over to my parents (Gigi & Granken) house at around 9:30 for some sausage bread and to open our presents with them and my sister and her husband (Kristen & Matt), my brother (Michael) and my grandparents (Memaw & Papaw). It was a really good time, and once again Ashley got more than we know what to do with. She has sooooooo many toys and cute little outfits to wear now. She's going to be one stylish 6 month old! We ate luncher (lunch/dinner) at around 4, which by the way was OH SO YUMMY! and then headed back over to Eric's parents house for Christmas dinner with Nana & Pops, Tiff/Larry & Crew, Mimi (Eric's grandmother) and Teri & Scott (Eric's aunt & uncle). Unfortunately...Ashley got sick while we were over there with some stomach bug and was sick for the entire week that I was off on vacation. NO FUN! Poor little thing! Mommy, Daddy & Gigi all got sick too. It was horrible! We're all finally better now, a week later!
Caption: Ashley, asleep in Granken's arms after a morning full of presents, presents & more presents!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

Pops is holding Ashley and Nana is holding the newest addition to the family, Samuel Reece D'Agostino. He's a cutie!

Still Smiling...even when she's sick

Pictures from our sick week....man that stomach bug was NASTY! She's such a good baby though...still smiling even though she felt AWFUL!

Mommy can always make me laugh when she kisses my cheek.

I sure do like these ruffles on the new PJs Memaw & Papaw got me for Christmas....they are so soft, they make me feel better even though I'm so sick.

I'm just sitting up, chilling in my crib...
